5 Devious Desserts in Disguise Perfect for April Fool’s Day
On April Fool’s Day, nothing is safe. This includes food. More specifically, desserts. Even more specifically, food-related pranks involving desserts that look like one, less appealing thing but in reality are something much more delicious. (Okay, yes, that’s very specific).
These devious desserts are creative ways to play fun pranks on friends and foes alike. So trick everyone this April Fool’s Day with these tasty, devious treats in disguise.
A cupcake base, vanilla frosting “spaghetti,” and Ferrero Rocher chocolate “meatballs” make this cupcake fake-out dinner and dessert in one.
These mini cheesecake bites are masquerading as spoonfuls of mashed potatoes, topped with caramel “brown gravy” and flakes of “pepper” made out of chocolate sprinkles. The idea of “comfort food” hits on all levels here.
These chicken nuggets are vegetarian friendly, with pound cake instead of chicken covered in a “batter” of crushed peanuts.
Vanilla ice cream discs battered in shredded coconut are fried and topped with a pistachio and white chocolate “tartar sauce.” The only thing fishy here is its lack of all things fishy.
Okay so this is not a dessert dressed up as something else, it’s something else dressed up as dessert. The “something else” is meatloaf and mashed potatoes made to look like carrot cake with vanilla icing. Seems like a great way to get children to finish their dinner before dessert!
