9 Red, White and Boozy Desserts for July 4th
With 4th of July just a few days away, I’m sure everyone is eagerly trying to nail down their plans for the big holiday. Whatever it is you do, be it firework gazing, barbecue cooking, beach laying, sandcastle building, just be sure that these 9 patriotically boozy desserts are on the menu.
These vodka-infused blueberry jello shots are made inside the actual strawberries, which is equally as impressive and pretty as it is patriotic.
It’s your (bourbon) cherry pie, cold drink of water such a sweet (and boozy) surprise.
Okay yes these red, white and blue daiquiris aren’t technically dessert but they’re so pretty and refreshing, with coconut sorbet, white rum, blue passion fruit liqueur AND blue curacao liqueur that there was no way they weren’t making this list.
These rum, mint and blueberry cupcakes are here to represent the “blue” of the “red, white and blue.”
So pretty, so fluffy, and yet so sophisticated with the combo of strawberry puree and a sweet almond flavor courtesy of the Amaretto.
It’s not a proper summer barbecue without beer, and it’s not a proper Twisted Truffles blog post without chocolate. The coffee and the white chocolate chips in these cookies are pretty killer too.
Coconut and a zippy orange flavor from blue curaçao make this panna cotta = dolce vita.
Apparently jello shots are extremely patriotic because they make another appearance here… this time with though, amped up with vanilla vodka, amaretto liqueur and super cute sugar cookie garnishes.
What’s more American than apple pie? Hot buttered rum apple pie. FTW.
